Australia has a
thriving jazz scene. Being a young multi-cultural country our music
reflects our diverse heritage. Along with the influences of North
American and Northern European Jazz and Groove masters , Australian
Jazz breaks boundaries by incorporating Middle Eastern, Asian, Indian,
Latin, UK Punk/Scar and Indigenous influences that reflect our culture.
Over a period of five years this site has attempted to gather a high
quality selection of Australia's finest original jazz ranging from
alternate punk trad jazz to electronic influenced sounds to a more
conservative jazz fusion. Australian Jazz is fresh and challenging
so dare yourself to listen to the real audio aian radio selection
or choose an artist from the selection below.

Funken Wagnells
This group is the product of a myriad of musical
influences... from latin to jazz... from jazz to funk. The multi-cultural
group is a rarity these days being a 12 piece original act...
Which includes a rhythm section that produces a fat complex
groove spanning many genres and a four piece horn section consisting
of some of Australia’s most recognised Jazz players .

Lewis
& Young
Their partnership refuses to allow the dominance
of one at the expense of the other, through their continuous
dialogue of western woodwind instruments and the ancient didgeridoo
this duo’s creative output is more than the sum of its parts.
They manifest an ecstatic union, the result of a common bond
bound in the otherwise contrasting music of European and Aboriginal
cultures.
